During today's meeting with representatives of political parties participating in the May 6 parliamentary elections, RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan informed that the Prosecutor General's Office had printed 300,000 ballots to prevent possible electoral violations.

During the meeting attended by representatives of the OSCE Office in Yerevan and the U.S. Embassy, Aghvan Hovsepyan underlined that the police couldn't fight against electoral violations alone and that they needed public support.

Taking the opportunity, deputy candidate, member of "Heritage" Party Anahit Bakhshyan declared that there were many electoral bribes.

"There are rumors that political parties are distributing telephones, not to mention the jam and the conserves and money."

Bakhshyan added that the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) was the main party distributing electoral bribes. Representative of the HHK's election headquarters Khachatur Vardanyan tried to defend his party's interests.

"There are no such phony things. The Prosecutor General's Office already has a group and I ask the group to present concrete facts."

In response to "A1+"'s question, Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan denied the rumors that he visits the pre-electoral headquarters of his brother, deputy candidate Ruben Hovsepyan who is running at precinct N 6. According to press releases, the Prosecutor General has been having meetings with representatives of the criminal world to ensure his brother's victory.

"I don't visit the headquarters...I don't even know where it is located. It is clearly defamation, a lie, you know very well that there should be no orientation during these electoral processes. I think everything will be clear after the elections, and it will especially be clear to our society," said Hovsepyan.
