Spring conscription starts
Serzh Sargsyan has signed a decree on spring conscription and demobilization.
According to the decree, during May-June 2012 those male citizens who turn 18 before the draft day, as well as those who have lost the deferment right will be called up for compulsory military and alternative service.
During May-June 2012, those servicemen, who have completed the compulsory military service, will be demobilized.
The President has instructed the Government to adopt a corresponding decision within a fortnight to guarantee the implementation of the given decree.
