The Armenian National Committee of America is criticizing U.S. President Barack Obama once again, and this time it is due to this speech at the Holocaust Museum in Washington on Monday in which he recalled the Holocaust and touched upon the other genocides of the 20th century without mentioning what happened to the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire.

"The killings in Cambodia, Ruanda, Bosnia and Darfur shocked us all. They were extreme manifestations of intolerance and ignorance. We shouldn't let the seeds of hatred be instilled in our hearts. When we say "Never Again", we mean hatred with all its manifestations, including Anti-Semitism, which have no place in the civilized world," said Obama.

A couple of hours after this address, Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of America Aram Hamparian made a statement in which he mentioned: "With this speech, President Obama went against his own idea of not letting genocides repeat themselves. Speaking at the Holocaust Museum a day before the day marking yet another anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, President Obama recalled several genocides of the past, but kept completely silent about the Armenian Genocide."

Hamparian particularly recalls that even Adolf Hitler had recalled what happened to the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire when he was planning his plans for the Holocaust.

"On April 24, President Obama has the opportunity to convey true value to his words about the prevention of genocides by denying Ankara's silence policy and fulfilling his pledge to condemn the Armenian Genocide and respect the memory of the victims," says Hamparian.
