The demand for Armenian Genocide recognition caused chaos during the Georgian Parliament's April 24 session.

According to apsny.ge news portal, during today's session, leader of the "Georgian Group" Party forming an ethnic minority in parliament Jondi Bagaturia made a statement according to which Georgian-Armenians suggest that the Georgian Parliament recognize the Armenian Genocide. At that moment, a deputy of Azerbaijani origin Azer Suleymanov approached the podium, picked up a full glass of water and tried to throw it at Bagaturia.

The latter, in his turn, threw his pen at Suleymanov, who threw a Vaseline cream box at Bagatura and was joined by another Azerbaijani deputy.

The representatives of the majority in parliament removed Suleymanov from the podium and the session was interrupted for several minutes.

According to the Georgian source, the incident broadcast on live television filled a group of Azerbaijani living in Georgia with indignation and they held a demonstration as a sign of solidarity with Azerbaijani deputies near the parliament building.
