"I cannot understand the reason for your fear?"
Representatives of the opposition Heritage party headed by leader Raffi Hovannisian visited on April 22 Armenia's Gegharkunik region. Heritage members met with residents of Gavar, Lichk, Martuni, Vardenik, Tsovinar, Vardenis and Sevan communities as party of the party's election campaign.
The Heritage delegation included MP Zaruhi Postanjyan, Armenia's ex-foreign minister Alexander Arzumanyan, Heritage vice-chairman Ruben Hakobyan, former political prisoner Karapet Rubinyan and others.
Addressing the residents of Gavar town, Raffi Hovannisian proposed them either to continue the old or seek for the new - ‘New Armenia, new Gavar, new salary, new right, new dignity.'
In Tsovak, Alexander Arzumanyan said they possessed information that the village head is trying to impede the campaign.
"I have just received amazing news. More people are said to have gathered here to meet us but they went home after the village head's threats. I cannot understand the reason for your fear. It is the village head that should be afraid of you and not the vice versa. He is your servant and if he fails to perform his duties, you are free to change him. Why should you fear him? I was in prison in 1988, 2007 and 2008 and I am ready to appear there anew for my children to live in a dignified country," he said.
Heritage representatives also invited the people to attend a concert in Yerevan on May 1 which is organized in support of Heritage.
