Liberty Square is ‘closed’
The opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) is rallying its supporters at Yerevan's Liberty Square on April 20.
Yerevan is preparing for the arrival of world famous opera singer Andrea Bocelli who is due to give a concert at Liberty Square on April 22.
Intensive work is underway at the square where specialists are decorating the stage.
Talking to A1+, security officers working on the site said the area would be closed with iron barriers until Sunday.
Asked whether they were aware of the HAK rally, the security officers reiterated that the access to the square was banned.
In the meantime, HAK Coordinator Levon Zurabyan assured us that they will encounter no problems during the rally since the ‘Mayor's Office had been notified of the event in due order.'
