Demanding Ashotyan’s resignation
Statement of the "Union of Students of Yerevan State Linguistic University after V. Brusov"
The "Union of Students of Yerevan State Linguistic University after V. Brusov", which includes a group of students, alumni, former and current professors of the university, strictly condemns all the fuss over Rector Suren Zolyan just because he didn't join the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK).
The rector didn't tell the students to issue this statement. The rector has publicly announced that he doesn't agree with the views that are expressed in this statement. According to the "Union of Students of Yerevan State Linguistic University after Brusov", what happened was cheap before the elections.
Let's hope the authorities don't need such lip service and those who created this situation will be brought to justice. Our country today needs good experts that shouldn't be restrained by political parties. It would be reasonable for the government to sacrifice Ashotyan when choosing between Ashotyan or Zolyan, not the doctor of sciences, expert of the Council of Europe Suren Zolyan.
We demand that the President and the Prime Minister immediately assign the minister to resign and not wait for the elections.
