The court postponed police colonel Margar Ohanyan's trial to May 14. His attorney, Mkrtich Vasakyan, who was supposed to give an accusatory speech, didn't show up to court and notified that he was ill.

Police officer Jirair Karapetyan, who has been recognized as the injured party, also didn't show up to court and had asked the court to proceed with the trial in his absence.

We remind that the prosecutor has demanded that Margar Ohanyan be sentenced to eight years in jail.

Margar Ohanyan has been under arrest for misusing office and confiscating large amounts of property since August 30 (Article 308 (2) and Article 179 (3) (1) of the RA Criminal Code).

Ohanyan is particularly charged with the appropriation of benzene and a part of the damage has been compensated.
