“We adore Samvel Alexanyan after God”
Opposition candidate in constituency N7 that covers Yerevan's western Malatia-Sebastia community has met new obstacles during his election campaign.
A group of women has chained Pashinyan at 50 Admiral Isakov in Yerevan where he is holding a meeting with locals. They demand that the parliamentary candidate leave their ‘yard.'
Though [Republican candidate] Samvel Alexanyan's campaign headquarters refuted their linkage to the incident, an ‘angered' group member said A1+'s journalist that ‘they adore Samvel Alexanyan after God.'
Nikol Pashinyan and Samvel Alexanyan are contesting a parliament seat in the same constituency. Alexanyan is seeking reelection from the area with the backing of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), as is Nikol Pashinyan, the editor-in-chief of the Haykakan Zhamanak daily and a senior representative of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK).
