During a meeting with voters in Abovyan today, leader of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) Levon Ter-Petrosyan advised the gathered to vote for any political party besides the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and its "satellite", that is, "Country of Law" Party (OEK) in the May 6 parliamentary elections.

He informed the gathered that four political parties, including Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), "Heritage" Party, the HAK and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun had signed an agreement on creating a unified headquarters in Yerevan to oversee the elections.

Ex-political prisoner Sasun Mikayelyan, who is running at precinct N 25 through the majoritarian electoral order, called on citizens to "straighten up", not be intimidated by threats and reject any type of electoral bribe.
He reminded the citizens of Abovyan about the elections for mayor of Hrazdan that took place in February this year where HHK candidate Aram Danielyan won without being too ahead of Sasun Mikayelyan.

According to Mikayelyan, if the elections don't help relieve the people of the incumbent authorities, there will be a new wave of emigration.

"I don't want to leave this country. They wanted to change me at the National Security Service. I told them, and now I'm telling you-if I sell myself to them, I will sell my family and my homeland in the future. Come to your senses, people, tomorrow it will be too late," said Mikayelyan.

Ex-prime minister, leader of "Liberty" Party Hrant Bagratyan mentioned that the current authorities will never allow the increase of the living standards of citizens of Armenia.

"It is in their favor to see the citizens emigrate due to poverty, receive money from relatives abroad and spend that money on the supermarkets that these authorities own," said the ex-prime minister.
