Heritage Party is not ready to participate in imitation processes, the party's vice-chairman Ruben Hakobyan said during today's session of the joint campaign headquarters formed by the Armenian National Congress (HAK), Armenian Revolutionary Federation - Dashnaktsutyun, Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and Heritage Party.

"As we have already said, Heritage will participate in the work [of the electoral headquarters], in case the leaders of the political forces in question leave their signatures under the document," Mr Hakobyan said threatening to abstain from the headquarters otherwise.

ARF member Armen Rustamyan urged the session participants not to play Hovhannes Tumanyan's fairy tale "Death of Kikos," saying the leaders' signatures are not a ‘must.'

HAK Coordinator Levon Zurabyan said he does not think the parties' leaders must necessarily sign the document as the headquarters is already formed.

Mr Rustamyan further asked the Heritage representative to elaborate his statement and say publically whether the party was going to withdraw its signature.

"There is no need for it," was Hakobyan's reply.
However, the Heritage official was not satisfied with Zurabyan's words that there is not need to sign the same document for a second time.

"Do you need Levon Ter-Petrosyan's signature? Shall I fetch it for you? " said Levon Zurabyan.

Ruben Hakobyan said in reality they targeted at the BHK. He stressed that the document runs counter to the coalition declaration. BHK had put its signature under the coalition memorandum thereby agreeing to maintain political equilibrium in the National Assembly. And now the BHK joined the declaration on the formation of inter-party electoral headquarters which aims to fight against electoral fraud.

BHK representative Vartan Oskanian, who remained silent throughout the debate, retorted saying, "In the fight against the electoral fraud the Prosperous Armenia will apply such resources that it will surprise you."
On April 4, BHK, Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun, HAK and Heritage signed a declaration on inter-party electoral headquarters in order to secure public control during the May 6 Parliamentary elections.
