The Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) was preparing to participate in the parliamentary elections with Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and "Country of Law" Party (OEK) with one proportional list, says political and electoral technologies expert Armen Badalyan.

Badalyan is rest assured that the authorities were preparing to convince the BHK to form one election list and come to terms on the issue related to majoritarian precincts.

According to him, there was no need to convince the OEK because the party ceased to exist in 2008 and would agree with any proposal.

He believes that if everything went according to plan, the parliament would have a group representing the President and the Armenian National Congress (HAK), and the group representing the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) and "Heritage" Party wouldn't be of any significance anymore. Armen Badalyan is convinced that it wouldn't be difficult to commit electoral fraud in this situation and that the HAK wouldn't be able to fight against falsifications alone. However, the BHK's decision to fight for its independence and future really came as a surprise for the authorities.
