“Voters are not empty-headed”
The results of a recent survey among Armenian voters show that every tenth voter expects social support, sociologist Aharon Adibekyan told a news conference on April 9.
He expects voter turnover to reach 65 percent, with 15 percent of them showing their dislike for the authorities and opposition.
Mr Adibekyan says he observers growth of civic consciousness on the eve of each election.
"It is an illusion to think that voters are empty-headed people with empty pockets and you should fill those pockets to gain their votes," he stressed.
The sociologist believes that the campaign for the May parliamentary elections will be more literate as compared with the previous ones.
Mr Adibekyan hurried to disappoint those political forces that claim to form a majority in the National Assembly.
"It resembles the case with minibuses. They hold 13 seats but transport 29 passengers," said the sociologist.
