The citizens whose homes are now part of the sale zone have the right to vote, but only theoretically speaking.

Even though they have the right to vote according to the Electoral Code even without being registered, these citizens don't know which polling station they have to go to in order to participate in the elections for the National Assembly as part of the additional list.

On the threshold of the 2012 NA elections, Head of "Victims of State Needs" NGO Sedrak Baghdasaryan and 37 citizens have sent a letter to the head of state, the Prime Minister and all European organizations in Armenia asking them to solve the issue related to registration.

"They have even removed us unilaterally from the voters' registration list and have turned us into the "elite homeless"," says the head of the "Victims of State Needs" NGO.

During the 2007 NA elections, it turned out that the names of 38 voters from the sale zone at Buzand Street who were registered at polling station N 10 were missing on the list. The same happened during the 2008 presidential elections.

"We appealed to the court, but the court ruled that we weren't allowed to participate in the elections. The police officer declared that we had been unilaterally removed from the registration list, but there is still a stamp in my passport showing that I was registered at Buzand 25 Street," said Sedrak Baghdasaryan.

According to the Electoral Code, those without registration in the Republic of Armenia also have a chance to vote according to the additional list after submitting an appeal to the corresponding department of the RA Police. The applications must be submitted no later than 7 days before the vote.
