Prayer in memory of Maraga victims
On April 9, a mass requiem will be held at the end of the Divine Liturgy at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and all churches of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church during which the faithful will pray for the innocent victims of the genocide perpetrated by the Azerbaijani in the Maraga village of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the massacres.
On the morning of April 10, 1992, Azerbaijani armed groupings invaded the Maraga village of Martakert region.
The Azerbaijani Omans destroyed and burned the village, tortured 60 residents, took 70 hostage and led them to distant areas.
Maraga is still under Azerbaijan's dominance, and the survivors are scattered across the globe.
