Incident in Armavir
Head of the Armavir Inspection of the Ministry of Urban Development of Armenia, Arayik Alexanyan is said to have been severely beaten.
The incident happened at 4:00, April 5, outside the Cultural House of Aravir when a group led by Samson Poghosyan attacked and brutally beat Arayik Alexanyan.
A month ago, media reported that MP Nahapet Gevorgyan was arranging the early release of Samson Poghosyan, who was serving his sentence in Sevan penitentiary institution. Gevorgyan allegedly wanted to use Poghosyan during the elections.
Samson Poghosyan had been sentenced to 8.5 years in prison for an attempted murder on MP Rustam Gasparyan and was freed from prison a month ago.
Eyewitnesses saw a VAZ 21 07 car (license numbers 06296), a dark blue Range Rover (state license numbers 03 300) and a white Niva without numbers on the scene.
