The candidates of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) running in the elections through the proportional and majoritarian electoral orders and HAK members today held a joint meeting. Among the participants were representatives of the HAK central office, heads of territorial offices, as well as RA First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, who gave a speech at the meeting.

"There was a need to specify the emphases on activities and propaganda before the launch of the election campaign," RA First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan's speaker Arman Musinyan told "A1+".

Musinyan also informed that there had already been some hindrances before the launch of the election campaign.

"There have been some problems with leasing areas at precincts, for example, the Gegharkunik, Aragatsotni and Syunik provinces, even in Yerevan."

The HAK is currently registering all problems and obstacles and will present them to the mass media and the observatory missions. The HAK has also registered violations.

Touching upon the joint statement of the HAK, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D), Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and "Heritage" Party on creating one headquarter for overseeing the elections, Musinyan underlined that "the HHK avoided participating in that meeting."

The HAK says it won't start its election campaign on April 8, which coincides with Easter. "We have to leave our citizens in peace so that they can spend time with their family and friends."
