Leader of the People's Party of Armenia (HZhK) Stepan Demirchyan today referred to the authorities' allegations that this time Armenia will hold unprecedented free and fair elections, with the ruling Republican party (HHK) garnering 40 percent of votes.

"And the authors of these statements are people who have deepened poverty, migration and corruption, increased the country's external debt to 4 billion drams," the HZhK leader said during a rally organized by the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) at Liberty Square in Yerevan.

"As a result of the authorities' policy, the country has appeared in a moral and psychological crisis and faces environmental and demographic disaster. Ironically, the more people leave the country, the more names appear on the voters' list. The regime's plans will fail if people say a definite ‘no' to this criminal-oligarchic system," said Mr. Demirchyan.

The HZhK leader advised people to cast their votes for the HAK since the latter has the potential to take people out of the ooze and change the situation in the country.
