RA Police Chief sacks head of Kotayk’s police department
Chief of Armenian Police, Lieutenant-General Vladimir Gasparyan Vladimir Gasparyan signed a decree on Wednesday to relieve head of Kotayk region's police department Grisha Amirkhanyan of his duties, Armen Malkhasyan, a senior official at the Armenian Police, told A1+.
By another decree of the Armenian Police Chief, Grisha Badalyan was appointed head of Kotayk's police department.
Grisha Amirkhanyan was sent to the personnel reserve.
Armen Malkhasyan official today refrained from commenting on Ombudsman's assessment on police activities in 2011.
"We are still considering the report," he said.
In his report released earlier on March 28, Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan stressed that in some cases, investigation and preliminary investigation bodies subjected people to cruel, inhuman, as well as humiliating treatment for obtaining testimony.
