R. Hayrapetyan: “I am a very law-abiding citizen”
Deputy of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), President of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan, who is running through the majoritarian electoral order at precinct N 1, decided to speak only about football during a meeting at Yerevan State University today. He considered speaking about the upcoming elections at an educational institution a violation since "he is a very law-abiding citizen".
"You and I know that I don't need any advocacy. Why should I come to a university for propaganda?" said Hayrapetyan.
The Rector of Yerevan State University also tried to avoid answering questions regarding the elections.
"We're talking about football. Did you hear any talk about propaganda?"
Nevertheless, after his meeting with the students, Hayrapetyan wasn't able to avoid the journalists.
Hayrapetyan only agreed to respond to "A1+"'s question on how he viewed Gayane Arustamyan's nomination at precinct N 1.
"I personally don't know her, but I think she is young and has done a good thing. She has a civil right. Perhaps she will take new steps in politics and achieve success," said Hayrapetyan.
The meeting at Yerevan State University was organized by the YSU Student Council and was held with the participation of President of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan, chief trainer of the Armenia national football team Vardan Minasyan and the team's senior player Sargis Hovsepyan. The meeting was also attended by RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan.
