Pro-opposition tycoon and ex-member of Parliament Khachatur Sukiasyan has submitted an application to the election commission of Precinct N10 asking the latter to reach a decision in his case as soon as possible.

"In my previous application dated March 17, 2012 I asked you to neglect the letter of the RA Police Passport and Visa Department and to register me as a deputy candidate. The election commission of Precinct N10 has not reached a corresponding decision to this moment.

Foreseeing the outcome of the decision and considering that a negative decision will be reached in my case I ask you to bring a decision as soon as possible," Khachatur Sukiasyan said in his application.

On March 17, Sukiasyan submitted a petition to the CEC and Precinct Election Commission No. 10. In the petition, Sukiasyan reflected on the letter of the Passport and Visa Department that was presented to the constituency according to Sukiasyan was considered to be ineligible to run in the May 6 parliamentary election because he hadn't been permanently residing in Armenia in the past 5 years.

On March 21, the Central Election Commission refused to institute administrative proceedings according to the application of Khachatur Sukiasyan. The CEC said the issue of registration was to be decided by the Precinct Election Commission.
