Raffi Hovannisian withdraws candidacy
Minutes ago, leader of the opposition Heritage party Raffi Hovannisian announced that he was going to withdraw his candidature in Constituency N7. Remind that Nikol Pashinyan, a senior member of the extra-parliamentary opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (HAK), was nominated at the same constituency last week.
Mr Hovannisian said that a Heritage representative had met with the HAK representatives and made them an interesting proposal: the Heritage suggested seconding HAK candidates in 21 election districts. The HAK is to support Heritage candidates in 7 districts in return.
In other constituencies, the Heritage is going to back the candidates of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun or other opposition candidates.
The opposition bloc turned down Raffi Hovannisian's proposal.
