RA Premier: “Never have elections been so important in Armenia”

A working group has been set up by the order of Armenia's Prosecutor General to compile, register and consider reports on electoral fraud.

"Citizens should be confident that their signals about violations will be addressed in due order," Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan said during a conference on the topic of free and fair elections.

Participating at the conference was also Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan who laid special emphasis on the conduct of the May 6 parliamentary elections. The Armenian premier said that never had elections been so much highlighted in Armenia. According to the official, Armenia already has a well-established civil society.

The conference aims to clarify the role of law enforcement agencies during free, fair and credible elections. the conference was organised by the Office of Prosecutor General, U.S. Embassy in Armenia and the International Center for Human Development (ICHD).
