The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairing countries call on the sides of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to show the will for a stable, longstanding and peaceful resolution of the conflict. This is stated in the joint declaration made by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Foreign Minister of France Alen Giupe.

"We call on the leaders of the conflicting sides to work on a framework agreement and a final decision as soon as possible based on the principles of the Helsinki Act, including no application of force of the threat of force, territorial integrity and the right of nations to self-determination, as well as the UN Charter, international law and principles, which will provide the region with the opportunity to get out of the current status-quo and move toward a safer and more prosperous future," as stated in the declaration.

They have also mentioned that "a new generation has matured in the region, a generation that doesn't remember Armenians and Azerbaijani living side-by-side, and extending the artificial barriers only deepens the wounds of the war. That is why we call on the leaders of the sides to prepare their societies for peace, not war."

We add that the declaration was made in light of the 20th anniversary of the Minsk Conference for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
