Judge reports challenge petition
A short while ago, Nelly Baghdasaryan, who is the judge examining the criminal case of Nareg Hartunian at the court of general jurisdiction of Shengavit district in Yerevan, upheld the challenge petition presented by Nareg Hartunian's attorney, Hayk Alumyan and reported the challenge petition.
We remind that the court of general jurisdiction of Shengavit district of Yerevan started the trial of the criminal case against Nareg Hartunian today. During the trial, Nareg Hartunian's attorney Hayk Alumyan presented a challenge petition to Judge Nelly Baghdasaryan since he had called the latter's impartiality into question. The judge has close, friendly ties with the prosecutors.
The judge interrupted the trial and left to take a decision on the challenge petition. Just minutes ago, the court upheld the petition, reports the Hartunians' press speaker.
