The Prosperous Armenia Party's (BHK) Congress ended a short while ago. The participants confirmed the party's pre-electoral platform for the May 6 parliamentary elections, but didn't mention any details regarding the list of candidates.

Serzh Sargsyan was also attending the congress, but neither he nor any representative of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) gave speeches. The congress ended with one session without any interruptions, and the journalists following up on the congress weren't able to ask the participants any questions. Leader of the BHK Gagik Tsarukyan and his high-ranking guests left the building through the back entrance. Let us add that Robert Kocharyan wasn't participating in the congress.

The important speech at the congress was the speech by ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs turned member of the BHK Vardan Oskanyan. He particularly touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement and mentioned that he saw signs of despair in the government, which was unacceptable. According to him, Armenia has to become a democratic country because that is what the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict requires.

Oskanyan is certain that Armenia's advancement is conditioned by economic development and the creation of jobs and believes that the BHK can contribute to that with its programs.

Leader of the United Labor Party (MAK) Gurgen Arsenyan was also attending the congress.
