Leader of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Gagik Tsarukyan was greeted with warm rounds of applause as he approached the podium to give a speech at the 6th BHK Congress. He announced that he hadn't planned to give an extensive speech today and that he would only touch upon several principal points, particularly the points in the party's pre-electoral platform. Tsarukyan said he was mainly concerned about the fact that Armenians abroad achieve success abroad, but not in Armenia.

"If Armenia doesn't solve the issue of unemployment, it won't be able to fight against emigration. For that, we need serious investments and we shouldn't disturb workers. Our country's strongest weapon is the dignified citizen of the country that has a well-to-do family, and one of our main slogans is peace within the country and on the borders," stressed Gagik Tsarukyan.

He announced that the BHK would not go against any political party during the May 6 elections. "We shouldn't seek enemies within our country. We have to hold peaceful elections, and people will lie at the core of structural reforms," said Gagik Tsarukyan.

Tsarukyan says the elections have to be fair and transparent and be held in an atmosphere of competition.

"If we create such an atmosphere, our country will not face any issues and our citizens will sense that their voices will be heard. The BHK pledges to ensure that. We consider the forces that support this principle our allies," said the BHK leader in closing.

After his speech, the gathered rose and gave rounds of applause.
