The Asbarez Press Club of Gyumri has issued the following statement:
"We set up a tent to start a sitting strike, which is legal in accordance with the RA Constitution and doesn't violate any law, but we saw Armenian police officers' disagreement.
They claim that we have no right to set up tents, and even if we want to set them up, we have to have permission from the local self-government bodies. We have currently formed a circle around the tent so that they don't touch it.
The police call on us to remove the tent, but we're not going to give up.
The park is full of police officers and they are increasing in number.
WE ASK EVERYONE TO COME TO THE PARK!!
The more people, the better...
Bring food and hot tea with you, if possible."
