Syrian Ambassador to the UN Feysal Habas Hamui has declared that the crisis in Syria is the result of foreign powers' provocations and that the goal of those powers is to split Syria in two.

During his speech at the UN on March 12, the Ambassador said "the crisis had nothing to do with the demand for peaceful demonstrations and reforms." "The crisis is destroying our country and is artificially created by foreign powers. It is an information and economy war against the Syrians."

Feysal Habas Hamui mentioned that the civil war that is growing in Syria is provoked by Israel and the countries that are in favor of the long-term colonization of the Arab territories, reports PressTV.

After the Syrian Ambassador'sspeech, Chairperson of the UN Security Council's Human Rights Commission Paulo Pineiro declared that the decision of the Arab League and European countries on arming the Syrian opposition was not right. According to him, the only way of getting out of the crisis and preventing violence is peaceful negotiations.
