On March 6, the Armenian parliamentary delegation led by NA Vice-Chairman Eduard Sharmazanov met Chairperson of the Lithuanian Seym Irena Dyagutyene in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The parliamentary delegation comprised secretary of the NA faction of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) Gagik Melikyan and ARF MP Ara Nranyan.

The sides attached importance to the cooperation between the parliaments of both countries.

The Lithuanian side attached importance to the holding of democratic elections in Armenia, and the Armenian delegation, in its turn, mentioned that the May 6 parliamentary elections in Armenia would be free, fair and would correspond to democratic standards.

The sides also discussed issues related to Armenia's European integration.

The Lithuanian side, as a EU-member country, expressed its willingness to support Armenia in getting closer to European standards.

The parliamentarians also discussed the current stage of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution.

The NA Vice-Chairman reaffirmed the conflict resolution on the basis of the well-known principles and added that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict had to be resolved in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group.

"There is no alternative to the international recognition of Artsakh," Eduard Sharmazanov concluded.
