Officer killed soldier?
On February 29, an officer was arrested for the case of 19-year old conscript Tigran Varyan, who was killed at the "Yeghnikner" military unit of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army.
Officer of the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Defense Meri Sargsyan told "A1+" that the senior of the military unit, senior lieutenant Hovhannes Hakobyan had been arrested.
"In relation to the death, a case was instigated under Article 110 (1) of the RA Criminal Code (leading to suicide). Lieutenant Hovhannes Hakobyan is charged with Article 375 (1) of the Criminal Code for misusing power, exceeding powers or lack of activity," officer Sargsyan informed.
According to preliminary data, Tigran Varyan died from a gunshot fired from the gun that was strapped to him.
The preliminary investigation continues.
