HHK to include well-known figures on its list
How does the ruling party assess the role of the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia's democratic developments and in the process of European integration?
Polish Ambassador to Armenia Zdislav Rachinski addressed the question to the head of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction, Galust Sahakyan, during a meeting at the National Assembly.
The HHK senior official said he fully understands that most election fraud recorded during the vote will be blamed on his party. To this end, the National Assembly has amended the Electoral Code which allows political parties to monitor electoral processes.
Speaking about the party's proportional list, Mr Sahakyan said the HHK is going to include on its list well-known and gifted public figures engaged in political and legislative activities.
"We realize the importance of the upcoming elections, hence we shall welcome all political forces who are eager to monitor elections in an attempt to conduct free and fair elections," he said.
