Leader of "Homeland and Honor" Party Garnik Margaryan remains a member of the Armenian National Congress (HAK), but refuses to participate in the May 6 parliamentary elections.

This is what Garnik Margaryan told "A1+" today.

According to him, his decision to not participate in the NA elections is a matter of principle.

"We have signed the HAK's Declaration, and have fought for snap presidential and parliamentary elections. Going to the presidential elections goes against our principles," Margaryan said.

The three parties and one union joining the HAK have refused to be included in the HAK's pre-electoral alliance ahead of the NA elections, including former Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan's "National Rebirth" Party, Garnik Margaryan's "Homeland and Honor" Party, Sos Gimishyan's "Christian-People's Rebirth" Party and the Armenian Volunteers Union, which is represented by former mayor of Goris Samvel Harutyunyan in the HAK's political council.
