“There are preconditions for destroying regime”
"The Armenian National Congress (HAK) has all the resources to isolate the major political party that stole the votes of the people, that is, the Republican Party of Armenia under Serzh Sargsyan's leadership along with all political forces," HAK coordinator Levon Zurabyan declared during today's rally at Freedom Square.
He underlined that the year 2012 would be decisive for the triumph of democracy. "There are all preconditions for us to destroy this regime," Zurabyan declared.
According to him, there had never been such a situation where the authorities would approach the upcoming elections in such a broken state (emigration, inflation and oligarchs).
"The people trust in the strong opposition, that is, the HAK, which can oversee the elections and establish democracy in the country," Levon Zurabyan assured.
He noted that Serzh Sargsyan viewed the upcoming parliamentary elections as an instrument to extend his term as president. To prohibit that, Levon Zurabyan called on everyone to join the pan-national movement and the process of establishing democracy.
The HAK coordinator also touched upon the events of March 1, mentioning that four years ago, the Armenian government committed the heaviest crime against the Armenian people, "starting by stealing their votes, their victories, and when the people awakened, it "stole" the people's spring".
"Now, on this first day of spring, we mark the day that the government committed the heaviest crime against the people. Our souls won't be at east until March 1 is not established as a day of democracy in Armenia and is not declared a day of love and happiness once again," Levon Zurabyan said.
