“Fighting citizens were born on March 1”
"The citizens fighting for their rights and dignity were born on the barricades on March 1, 2008," said editor of "Haykakan Zhamanak" Daily, ex-political prisoner Nikol Pashinyan in his speech during the rally at Freedom Square.
"I am ready to say that those citizens are standing on the barricades and are incessant. We have to record that a country with a government that fires at the people has no future because that kind of a government is the people's enemy. As long as the Kocharyan-Serzh regime remains in power, it is absurd to talk about reforms, justice and economic development.
Serzh Sargsyan's brother, Sashik promised bloodshed back in 2007. As long as a government that fired at the people in power, Armenia will continue to be a third-world country," said Pashinyan.
He added that his political activity would be aimed at creating a moral, political situation that would bring the culprits of March 1 to justice. Pashinyan also said Robert Kocharyan would be charged with giving the command to fire at peaceful demonstrators on March 1, organizing a coup d'etat through the use of the army, corruption and the appropriation of the nation's riches.
According to Pashinyan, Serzh Sargsyan should be charged with giving the command to shoot at peaceful demonstrators, violating constitutional order, organizing mass disturbances and misusing official power; Hovik Abrahamyan should be charged with supporting the violation of the constitutional order and using official position for enrichment; Hayk Harutyunyan should be charged with giving the command to shoot the people on March 1 and other crimes and Aghvan Hovsepyan should be charged with concealing those who have intentionally kept the culprits of the murders and the organizers of the mass disturbances unrevealed.
"This is not a manifestation of revenge and appropriateness. The blood that the citizens of Armenia shed is not up for bargain.
I have stood and will stand in front of Robik's and Serzhik's guns. We will either wipe Armenia of the Kocharyan-Serzh garbage, or the Kocharyan-Serzh garbage will wipe us Armenian citizens of Armenia.
Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan, you won't get away with shedding our blood, you will drown in our blood," Nikol Pashinyan declared.
