The Armenian National Congress (HAK) kicked off its rally at Freedom Square in Yerevan.

The rally has brought together members and leaders of 18 HAK-member political parties and public and political initiatives.

The pre-electoral campaign of the opposition will be declared during today's rally.

HAK leader, RA First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan will give a speech at the rally.

The rally will be followed by a march from Freedom Square to Moscow Square near Myasnikyan Statue where peaceful demonstrators were massacred through the application of force on the night of March 1, 2008.

The participants of the march will lay flowers at the bust of Myasnikyan Statue in memory of the 10 victims of March 1. Sargis Kloyan, father of one of the ten victims Gor Kloyan, will also give a speech at the rally.

We remind that the inter-city transportation from Hrazdan, Sevan, Ashtarak, Armavir, Artashat, Gyumri and Baghramyan to Yerevan has been prohibited since this morning.

According to HAK representative Vladimir Karapetyan, the leaders of HAK territorial structures and citizens are complaining about not being able to come to Yerevan and participate in the rally.
