HRAK representative arrested
Karen Kakoyan, a senior representative of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party (HRAK), is placed under arrest, Armen Malkhasyan, a representative of the Public Relations and Press Department of the Armenian Police, told A1+.
Kakoyan, the ‘right hand' HRAK Chairman Harutyun Arakelyan, is charged with major embezzlement in accordance with Article 179 (paragraph 1, part 3) of Armenia's Criminal Code.
The case was initiated last November, when during the preparation of the case material the Prosecutor's Office discovered large-scale abuses during the disposition of the party's offices located in Yerevan, Goris, Artashat, Nor Hachn and Vanadzor.
A criminal case was filed with the prosecutor's office of Kentron and Nork Marash districts under paragraph 3, part 2 of Article 179 the Criminal Code - sizable embezzlement of property.
