CC denies bill criminalizing genocide denial
The Constitutional Court of France released a communiqué stating that the bill criminalizing the denial of genocides doesn't correspond to the country's Constitution.
On January 23, the French Senate passed the bill criminalizing the denial of genocides with 127 "for" and 86 "against". In addition to the Armenian Genocide, France has also recognized the Holocaust, the denial of which is already punishable in France.
