The Democratic Republic of Korea has threatened to declare a "holy war" against South Korea and the United States.

Korea made this threat in response to the decision on holding joint military drills in the disputed border between the above mentioned countries and the Yellow Sea, reports Agence France-Presse.

In its declaration, the State Armed Forces Commission of the Democratic Republic of Korea underlines that it views the military drills as a "silent war declaration" against the country and "military hysteria that is unforgiveable".

The first stage of the South Korea-U.S. military drills were launched on February 20 and Korea's "opposing" countries will launch the net stage on February 27. The next maneuver is foreseen in March.
