Heritage to convene special sitting Feb 28
The Heritage Party considers the switch to a full proportional system to be a top priority and is going to discuss it in its special sitting on February 28.
The National Assembly's Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs today discussed the draft law on introducing amendments to the Law on the Electoral Code which suggests shifting to a 100-percent proportional representation system.
The Committee disapproved of the draft law which forced the Heritage faction to recgnise the issue as a priority and submit its decision to the NA Speaker in accordance with the NA regulations.
The bill is co-authored by the Heritage and Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun). More than a dozen political parties, social and political initiatives have already voiced support for the initiative.
