The EU Foreign Affairs Council will discuss on Feb. 27 the cooperation between the European Union and South Caucasus. As part of the discussion, the Council will dwell on the settlement of the regional conflicts, including those of Georgia and Nagorno-Karabakh.

The Council will discuss the situation in the South Caucasus.

The Council will reiterate its commitment to promoting prosperity, security, democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights throughout the South Caucasus. At the same time, the Council will emphasise the importance of finding peaceful settlements to the conflicts in the region. Finally, the Council will recall that the pace of reforms in partner countries will determine the intensity of cooperation with the EU: partners most engaged in reforms will benefit more from their relationship with the EU, including closer political association, gradual integration in the internal market, enhanced mobility for citizens and increased EU support.

The Council is also expected to remind the EU's agenda of available assistance to Egypt, including financial support; further market integration and the launching of a dialogue on migration, mobility and security.

The Council is due to adopt conclusions on these issues.
