“HHK is apoplectic”
"A1+" asked coordinator of the Armenian National Congress's (HAK) foreign relations committee Vladimir Karapetyan to comment on the statement of new member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Vardan Oskanyan regarding the suspension of the Coalition Memorandum signed in February 2011.
We remind that the BHK representative declared that the memorandum that the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) forced the BHK to sign is no longer in effect.
"The Republican Party is apoplectic. The one thing on all Republicans' mind is when they will stop being humiliated. Can this party finally make a decision or not? I think the Republicans have received another blow," said Vladimir Karapetyan.
Weren't the comments made by some Republican leaders after Oskanyan's statement enough? In response, Karapetyan said: "Those comments make the Republican Party look more ridiculous. The BHK's statement hasn't been denied, and even Vardan Oskanyan had very clearly stated that he had had a meeting with the BHK leader," said the HAK member.
Based on the logic of the HHK's policy and working style, Karapetyan says "the HHK simply had to accept the challenge and appoint HHK or "Country of Law" Party (OEK) members to the posts of ministers and governors that the BHK members held."
According to him, at the core of all this is the lack of ability of the Republican leaders to respond to the BHK in any way.
"The Republican Party is going along with its coalition partner's second slap to the face. The first was Tsarukyan's attitude toward the main point of the memorandum, which was a message to the society that it can no longer control the situation within the coalition. It is clear that nobody will come to terms with a weak political party before and much less after the elections," said Karapetyan.
