Armenia, EU to fight against cross-border crime
Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia, Artur Baghdasaryan, received on Wednesday Mr Ilkka Laitinen, Executive Director of the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the EU member-states (FRONTEX). The sides signed a working agreement which provides an opportunity to deepen cooperation between Armenia and FRONTEX.
Following the signing ceremony, Mr Baghdasaryan said the agreement will further strengthen ties between Armenia and the European Union and help cooperate in sphere of border security.
In his turn, Mr Ilkka Laitinen singled out three factors that led to the document signing - the political will of the Armenian authorities, the successful strategy of integrated border management as well as the support of international structures, including that of the UN and EU.
