Delegates interested in NK conflict
On February 21, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan received the delegation of the Foreign Relations Committee of the European Parliament. The delegates are in Armenia on a regional visit.
The parties mentioned with content that serious progress has been made in the negotiations over the Armenia-European Union Associated Agreement that launched in July 2010. It was underlined that the negotiations over 22 chapters related to cooperation in the spheres of the future agreement had been held, good progress had been made in the spheres of political dialogue, reforms, foreign policy and security and justice, reports the MFA press service.
The sides attached importance to the EU's decision on launching negotiations over the creation of the Deep and Comprehensive Trade Zone with Armenia. In that regard, it was mentioned that Armenia has made serious reforms and has registered great results in several spheres.
At the request of the delegates of the European Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, Minister Nalbandyan presented the current stage of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution in detail. In that subtext, it was stressed that the EU completely supports the efforts being made by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs that have the adequate mandate and rich experience in mediating.
The sides also discussed several regional issues and issues of mutual interest.
