Authorities targeted at parties affiliated with HAK
The Armenian National Congress (HAK) has issued a statement condemning the authorities' crackdown on its member parties.
"With a rough breach of law, the Ministry of Justice has registered a new Social Democratic Hnchakyan party (SDHK) with the intention to usurp the HAK-affiliated SDHK. This is the second time in one week that the authorities target at parties sided with the HAK.
A couple of days ago, the regime forcibly ‘seized' an office of the Democratic Motherland party.
Fearing the growing authority of the HAK, the authorities gave a dare to yet another fundamental freedom envisaged by the country's Organic Law - the right to form alliances.
HAK condemns the regime's illegal actions and demands stopping arbitrary actions against the SDHK and the "Democratic Motherland," the opposition bloc said in the statement.
