Nazik Avdalyan to appear on BHK list?
Weightlifting World Champion Nazik Avdalyan has applied for membership to the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK).
In 2009, Nazik Avdalyan won the world champion in weightlifting in Goyang, South Korea. This was the first gold medal for Armenia in any game following the 2008 Olympic Games. In the same year Avdalyan was awarded with a medal for her service to her Motherland. Last year, the world champion was involved in a car accident that left her with a fractured vertebra and two cracked ribs. Following the accident, Avdalyan was forced to leave the sport.
Now, the champion has decided to try her luck in politics and is likely to appear on the proportional list of the Prosperous Armenia Party. According to preliminary reports, Avdalyan will deal with sport and youth issues.
