Prospects of Yerevan-Beirut sister cities discussed in Lebanon
Armenia's Ambassador to Lebanon Ashot Kocharian met on Thursday with Lebanese Minister of Culture Gaby Layoun and Mayor of Beirut Bilal Hamad.
The parties discussed the imlementation of bilateral cultural programs and the prospects for cooperation between the sister cities [Yerevan and Beirut].
Ambassador Kocharian conveyed the Lebanese officials a formal invitation to participate in the events dated to the 500th anniversary of the Armenian typography and proclamation of Yerevan a World Book Capital. the events will take place in Yerevan in April.
Ashot Kocharian also informed his interlocutors that in autumn Armenia is planning to hold cultural days in Lebanon which will further cement cultural ties between the two countries under questions. The Lebanese Culture Minister and Armenian Ambassador also discussed the possibility of organizing an annual Armenian music festival in Lebanon, Armenian Foreign Ministry's press service reports.
