Statement of the Department of Information and Public Relations of Yerevan Municipality:

"In relation to the declaration disseminated by representatives of the non-governmental initiative protesting against the temporary structures that are being placed in the non-green area near the garden at the Mashtots Avenue-Yeznik Koghbatsi sector, in which it is particularly stated that Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan had "proposed to not speak about the law, but to appeal to the court" during a meeting with the representatives, we inform that the words ascribed to the mayor have been intentionally distorted and are out of the context. In reality, during the meeting, in response to the representatives claim that the placement of temporary structures is being implemented without corresponding documents, which is a violation of the law, Mayor Taron Margaryan assured them that those activities are being implemented by the law, in accordance with affirmed documents regarding urban development. However, that wasn't enough for the representatives, who claimed that there was a violation of the law. In response to that claim, Mayor Taron Margaryan proposed to appeal to the court and dispute the issue of adequacy in court.

Yerevan Municipality assures once again that the placement of temporary structures in the non-green area near the park located at the Mashtots Avenue-Yeznik Koghbatsi sector is being implemented by the order prescribed by the law, in accordance with affirmed documents on urban development."
