“Civil war won’t circumvent Armenians”
The Central Board of the Conservative Party has issued a statement:
"The clashes between civilians in the Syrian Arab Republic won't circumvent the densely populated Armenian community, which has not only been the backbone for the preservation of Armenian identity in the Near East, but the entire Armenian Diaspora along with the Armenian communities of Iran and Lebanon for more than 70 years. Similar clashes between civilians have led to the perdition of the citadels in Iran and Lebanon and the dispersion of Armenians, and the same awaits the last bastion of Diaspora Armenians.
Whereas the Communist regime of Soviet Armenia didn't implement any national program, the current authorities of the independent Armenia must quickly make agreements and move the Syrian-Armenians in the more vulnerable and dangerous sectors to Armenia and Artsakh through government funding; otherwise, the current authorities will be held accountable for the elimination of an entire sector of Armenians."
