Sergeant arrest in connection with soldier’s death
A sergeant has been arrested in connection with the death of a soldier who was found dead in a military unit in Nagorno Karabakh early in February, Mary Sargsyan, a senior officer at the Investigation Service of the Defense Ministry, told A1+.
Sergeant Arthur Zakaryan is accused to murdering soldier Karlen Baghdasaryan, and is charged with Article 375, part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code (abuse of power).
Karlen Baghdasaryan, 20, was lethally wounded on February 2 and died on the way to hospital. He had been drafted to the army from the Stepanakert military commissariat and had already served a year and three months.
